Mr Ibu’s family abducted!!!

Nigeriafilms.com is reporting that kidnappers have abducted the family of popular Nollywood comedy actor, John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu, in Enugu.

The kidnappers, the website says have contacted Mr Ibu and are demanding N1 million for their release.

This will not be the first time Mr Ibu is having an encounter with kidnappers as he was kidnapped in 2008 by unknown assailants.

Those kidnappers did not demand any ransom but rather wanted him to lambast in camera the then president Olusegun Obasanjo for his political failures.

Mr Ibu was subsequently paid N100, 000 and released after.

The Nigerian film industry has been hit with other abductions. In 2009, prominent actors, Pete Edochie and Nkem Owoh popularly known as Osofia were also abducted.

While Pete’s abductors did not demand any ransom, Osofia’s wanted N15 million for his release.

Osofia’s relations after several bargaining with the kidnappers payed N1.4 million to secure his release after a week in abduction.
