7 Arrested With Explosives In Suleja!

SEVEN persons have been arrested by the police in Suleja town of Niger State for being in possession of explosive devices believed to be used in making locally made bombs.

Speaking at the State Command, Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Richard Oguche said the suspects were arrested following a tip off, saying when the police raided the suspected house in Suleja last week it discovered some explosive devices,

Oguche said "the police have raided the house of the leader of the group, who it refers as Alhaji Bature and sophisticated explosive devices used in making bomb were found in his house."

He added that findings made by the police revealed that the explosive devices recovered from the alleged suspects were the type that could only be used by licensed explosives users.

The police image maker further said from the police investigation, the suspects were not licensed explosives users, noting though, that the suspects claimed that they used the explosives for mining purposes.

He explained that the explosive materials found in possession of the suspected criminals have similarity with those used in the four bomb blasts in Suleja, in the last five months.
