Body of drowned ministerial nominee recovered and buried!

THE body of the drowned ministerial nominee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Chief Alade Abaniwonda, was recovered on Wednesday at Bonny Camp area and has since been buried, in accordance with Islamic rites at Victoria Court Cemetery, Lekki.

Amidst tears, as sympathisers were yet to come to term with the mystery surrounding the death of the party chieftain, his remains were committed to mother earth around 5.00 p.m.

The Chief Imam of Victoria Court Cemetery, Alhaji Taofik Awwal and the Chief Imam of Epe, Alhaji Sadala Abiola Abdulraham, encouraged the immediate family of the deceased and associates to take solace in the fact that "God gives and takes."

While advising the family to ignore whatever people might be saying, considering the circumstances surrounding his death, the Muslim leaders described death as the end of every creature, adding that when and where it would happen was known only to Allah.

In attendance at the burial were the state chairman of the party, Setonji Kosheodo; secretary, Senator Wahab Dosunmu; Dr Leke Pitan, Mr Jimi Agbaje and a host of others.

It will be recalled that the late Abaniwonda, the senatorial candidate of the PDP for Lagos East senatorial district, fell into Lagos lagoon at Marina, Lagos Island Local Government, on Monday, while trying to defecate at the river side.
