Suspected Boko Haram Member Nabbed In Ibadan…Over Attempt To Burn Churches!

ATTEMPTS by a suspected member of the Boko Haram religious sect to attack some churches in Ibadan was, weekend, frustrated with the man beaten and arrested by some vigilant people before he could carry out any attack.

The suspect was said to be on surveillance of some big churches in the city to be attacked when nemesis caught up with him.

According to investigation, the suspect had mingled with some beggars at Omitowoju, off Salvation Road, in Ibadan North West Local Government Area, waiting for an opportunity to unleash mayhem.

The attention of some people willing to give him alms was said to have been attracted after he  started discussing on phone with some people in Hausa Language.

Vanguard gathered that the first thing that aroused the suspicion of the people was the expensive phone the supposed beggar brought out from his inner pocket.

As if that was not enough, an eye witness said the subject of conversation of the man with others on phone further strengthened the suspicion that the man must have a sinister motive other than begging.

Even though, the suspect carefully left the company of other beggars to converse with his callers, those waiting to give him alms who equally understood his language  trailed him.

He was said to be telling his colleague on phone that he was still searching for big churches to attack.

The man was said to be close to the popular St. Stephen Church, when he was apprehended.

It was gathered that his call credit at the time was N13, 000.  He was subsequently beaten to a pulp by those that challenged him.

The suspect was said to have been taken to a Police Station at Mokola.
