Ex Governor James Ibori Begins Negotiation To Sell Off NewsPaper Company?

Incarcerated former governor of Delta State, james Ibori is currently engaged in moves that might see him selling off his newspaper company, Independent Nigeria Newspaper Limited publishers of Daily Independent Newspapers.

Information revealed that the takeover move was initiated by the interested buyers.

The consortium is said to be made of foreign nationals with a Nigerian acting as go between.

The identity of the parties involved is still heavily guarded- same for the terms of negotiation.

It is however confirmed that the interested parties along with the Managing Director of the publishing house, Mr Akpandem James met with Ibori I London a couple of days back.

Akapandem reportedly spent about a week in London trying to sort out the intricacies involved in the deal with his principal before returning back to Nigeria.

Ibori is presently in detention in London facing prosecution for corruption charges.

It is instructive to note that Ibori has been having issues with the management of the company over day to day running of the place before he was arrested and detained in Dubai, and extradited to London to face charges over crimes that landed his wife and mistress in jail as the mastermind.

On going investigation by www.societynowng.com however revealed that this development may not be a one off scenario. There appears to be an emerging trend that Ibori is attempting to make the most of his predicament by clandestinely selling off his known assets before the outcome of his case. This move is alleged to be borne out of possibility of losing and the properties forfeited.
