Tribunal: Obama, Instead Of ‘Jonathan’ Found In INEC’s Document

Lol....what were they thinking?Naija for life.

The name of American President, Obama, instead of that of President Goodluck Jonathan, was yesterday found in a document tendered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Zamfara State.

The gaffe was discovered when parties in the petition by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seeking the nullification of the last April's gubernatorial poll in the state were making their final written addresses.

INEC's lead counsel, Mrs. Victoria Awomolo, brought the attention of the tribunal to the mix-up contained in line 23 of page seven in the commission's reply, saying that it was a typographical error which she could not explain.

"The word 'Obama' should read Goodluck Jonathan," she explained. Also, the name of Kano had to be substituted with that of Zamfara in another error on page 37.
