How Robbers Killed The Wife Of Kwara Chief Security Officer

The seat of government in Kwara State was thrown into confusion and in deep mourning at the weekend, when news filtered in that Aishat, wife of the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, SUPOL Idris Mohammed was killed by bullets of armed robbers.

It was learnt that the young woman, being driven in her husband's SUV by a driver was on her way to Ilorin but on getting to a village close to Ogbomosho at about 11 pm Thursday, they ran into group of rampaging armed robbers.

It was further gathered that the armed bandits who had laid siege to the road with the sole aim of travelers fired several gunshots at the vehicle from both flanks of the roads. This development, which caught the driver unaware, made him to make a detour, but the robbers kept firing gunshots at the SUV so as to stop the vehicle, but it finally escaped.

The bullets had already hit unknown to the driver, Aishat who was already asleep at the backseat in the vehicle while the shooting lasted because she rolled down the side glass during the journey.

When the vehicle got to a safe place, Aishat was found to be bleeding heavily from the head, and she was quickly rushed to a specialist hospital for urgent medical attention.

It was also learnt that the impact of the gunshot on Aishat's head, coupled with the long distance it took before getting to the specialist's hospital, where an unsuccessful operation was carried out didn't help the matter. Aisha was reported to have died early hours of Friday at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital UITH, where she was hurriedly taken to and was buried later in the afternoon.

May her soul RIP.
