Senate Unable To Persuade Labour To Call Off Strike

Senate Unable To Persuade Labour To Call Off Strike
Attempts by the Senate leadership to persuade the Organised Labour to call off its nationwide strike failed yesterday.

This followed a two-and-half hour meeting between Senate President David Mark and the   President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Abdulwaheed Omar and President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Peter Esele.

The meeting was held at the Apo Legislative Quarters, Abuja home of the senate president.

However, Mark and Omar, who addressed reporters after the parley, said they had useful discussions.

And until the pump price of fuel is reversed to N65, the NLC and NUT has promised to continue the stay home order.
