Police Arraign "Oba Akadiri Okanola" Of Osun State In Court For Allegedly Stealing N1.5Million

More like a royal disgrace, the Osun State Police Command has arraigned a traditional ruler in Egbedore Local Government Area of the state, the Olokinni of Okinni, Oba Akadiri Okanola before a Senior Magistrate's Court in Osogbo for allegedly stealing N1.5 million.

Okanola was accused of stealing N1.5 million belonging to the traditional ruler of Temidire, Chief Bakare Adeyemi and two others, Lateef Olaore and  Alhaji Kareem Ishola.

The traditional ruler and a 47-year-old man, Sulaiman Rasaki, suspected to be one of his guards, were also said to have on August 14, 2011 at Temidire area along Osogbo/Ilobu road conspired and attempted to kill Adeyemi.

The charge sheet reads in part: "That you, Akadiri Okanola and Suleiman Rasaki on August 14, 2011 at Temidire area along Osogbo/Ilobu road inflicted injuries on Chief Bakare Adeyemi by hitting him on the head with a cutlass and also hitting him with blocks".

The police prosecuting officer, Sunday Fatola told the court that the two accused persons stole N1.5 million and three mobile phones valued at N20,000 from the Baale of Temidire community, Chief Bakare Adeyemi, Lateef Olaore and one Alhaji Kareem Ishola.
