Have faith In Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan Tells Citizens

Our dear President, Goodluck Jonathan, has urged Nigerians to continue to have faith in the nation's collective ability to overcome all present challenges and take its rightful place in the comity of nations as a strong, united and prosperous country.

The President made the call on Saturday in an Easter message to the nation.

He said: "Nigeria will overcome its developmental challenges in the shortest possible time if all citizens resolve to set aside differences, work together to foster peace, harmony and security in our country as requisite conditions for steady socio-economic growth and development.

"As people of faith, Nigerians must never succumb to hopelessness and despair and must rekindle and retain deep faith in shared vision of greatness, and continuously renew determination to achieve immense potentials through total commitment and dedication to the fulfilment of national aspirations."

While commemorating with Christian community over the celebration, President Jonathan advised them to learn from the significance of Easter which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and stressed that in it is a promise to the faithful of an ultimate triumph over all challenges and adversity.

He said that government would continue to give dynamic, purposeful and effective leadership towards the attainment of the nation's goal of faster national progress and development and put greater effort into achieving a positive transformation in the lives of Nigerians.
