Acting Inspector General of Police Threatens To Dismiss Police Officers Involved In Bribery And Corruption.

The acting Inspector General of Police [IGP] Mohammed Abubakar, on Wednesday threatened to dismiss any police officer who involve in bribery and corruption

 He said the present police authorities have taken measures to rebuild the confidence of the people in the force, stressing that it is also determined to build police force that will respect and protect the people as well as take seriously the security challenges confronting the country.

 Abubakar, who spoke while paying a courtesy visit to the Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko urged police officers to protest lives of the citizenry.

The IGP said that he was in the state as part of his nationwide tour to sensitize the officers and men of the force on its new policy directions. 

Abubakar also assured that security agents would not relent in tackling the nation’s security challenges, noting that huge recovery of arms and ammunition and arrest of some suspects in connection with security threats have been made.

Mimiko in his remarks attributed the prevailing peace in the state to the synergy between government and security agencies, promising to assist in training of security operatives outside the country.
