He might have been known only as a dancer and Jennifer Lopez's current beau, but Casper Smart will soon break into television as well. The 24-year-old has landed his very own reality series, it has emerged.
Confirmation of this is still pending, but a source claims the deal is done. As expected, Jennifer was instrumental in getting Casper the gig, in the sense that she sold the show to the network.
“Casper Smart is capitalizing on his relationship with Jennifer Lopez. After he was promoted to be one of the choreographers on Lopez’s tour, we hear JLo just sold a reality show to Oxygen based on Smart,” the report says.
However, don't expect any juicy stuff (that is, footage of their romance) to be included in the show: this is just about Casper and his dance skills.
“Sources say it will follow Smart as he whips her other backup dancers into shape for the tour. The show is expected to focus solely on Smart and Lopez’s professional relationship. It has already been picked up as a series,” the source further said.
If this turns out to be accurate, it will do nothing in terms of dispersing talk of how Smart is actually using Jennifer Lopez to launch himself into showbiz in various fields.
A short while ago, reports were saying that he was very bossy around her, and would often interfere in her business meetings, challenging her authority in so doing.
Various unnamed insiders also said that Lopez's friends were convinced he would “dump her like yesterday's news” the moment he would see himself well off, because he was using her for fame and money.
At the time, Jennifer had already cut out two of her girlfriends for warning her of Casper's true nature, the spies claimed.
“Everyone’s worried that Jen will wind up with a broken heart again and humiliated. It’s so obvious to everyone but Jen that he’s using her,” said one such source.
“He doesn’t have his own money… and at this rate, she’ll go broke supporting his champagne tastes. Casper needles Jen to introduce him to music executives and entertainment big-wigs. Jen bends over backwards to please him,” added another.
