Wimbledon 2012: Venus Williams Out On Day-1 After 15 Years Of Success

                             Venus Williams                       Elena Vesnina

She's as famous for her outrageous outfits as she is for her winning ways but today tennis star Venus Williams was lacking in both departments.
The five-time champion lost in the opening round at Wimbledon for the first time since she made her debut at the tournament.
The 32-year-old American was bundled out in straight sets by Russian Elena Vesnina, who claimed a fine 6-1 6-3 success on Court Two.
Williams fell 5-0 behind in the opening set, against a player Britain's Heather Watson beat in the French Open first round last month.
She slowly improved but could not find a way to turn the match around.
Watching Williams walk slowly to her chair and gulp in the air between points it was hard to picture her dancing up and down on Centre Court the way she did when she won her fifth title, in 2008. The odd flashing groundstroke sparked a few memories but on Monday everything looked an enormous effort.
"I've lost before," she said. "Sometimes you win. There are times when you have to lose. That's pretty much what it was."
