PDP Splits Into Two, Atiku, Amaechi And 7 Northern Governors Form 'New PDP'

On a day marking its 15th anniversary of the founding of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and the seven northern governors of Sokoto State, Aliyu Wammako, Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, Musa Kwankawanso of Kano State, Muritala Nyako of Adamawa State, Abdulfathi Ahmed of Kwara State, Babangida Aliyu of Niger State and the River State governor, Chibuike Amaechi announced the formation of a splinter group from the mainstream PDP.

The last straw of the PDP crisis was when the chairman of the Electoral Committee, former Senate President, Ken Nnamani announced the names of candidates for the election at the special national convention that excluded most of the allies of the northern governors and Sam Sam Jaja from Rivers State who was to contest election for the office of the deputy national chairman.

  1. Atiku is a rebel. Now, the sponsor of Amechi and his cohorts has been exposed. They will fail. Anybody who want to destroy PDP because of Jonathan will fail.
