Convicted Terrorists To Face Life Imprisonment In Lagos

Anyone convicted of terrorism in Lagos State will now be committed to life jail, while kidnappers who demand for ransom before the release of the victim will face 21 years imprisonment, in accordance with Lagos State new criminal law.

"A person who participates in terrorist activities will still be liable for any other offences such as murder that might have occurred in the course of their activities" the new law stipulates.

The new law also stipulates that "a person who participates in terrorist activities will still be liable for any other offences such as murder that might have occurred in the course of their activities" and made provision for kidnapping under Section 269 (3), stating that kidnappers will be sentenced to 21 years imprisonment on failure to release their victims without any intervention or ransom.
