Rest In Peace: Professor Chinua Achebe

Nigeria’s literary icon  and one of the world’s most celebrated writers and author of the classic novel Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebe, has passed on.

82-year-old Professor Achebe, died last night in a hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States where he was said to have suffered from an undisclosed ailment.

A source close to the family said the professor had been ill for a while and was hospitalised in an undisclosed hospital in Boston. 

Until his death he was survived by a wife, Christie Achebe and 4 children, Chinelo (daughter ), Ikechukwu (son), Chidi (son) and Nwando (daughter). He also left behind six grandchildren, Chochi, Chino, Chidera, C.J. (Chinua Jr.),Nnamdi and Zeal.

May his soul RIP, Amen

Time Hospital Reconciles With Families Over Swapped Corpse

The feud between the Management of Time Hospital and the families of Omorodion and Aigbe which has been  lingering for more more than 3 years, over the swapped corpse of late John Omorodion at the Time Hospital morgue in Benin City, Edo State has finally been resolved.

The resolution followed a meeting called by the Director of Time Hospital, Dr. Taiwo Amusan between the Aigbe’s and Omorodion’s families in Benin City.

It would be recalled that trouble started between the trio when the Aigbe’s family in a bid to collect the corpse of their father, Monday Aigbe mistakenly took that of late John Omorodion and buried in their family compound.

House of Representatives To President Jonathan: Give Amnesty To Boko Haram

The House of Representatives yesterday called on President Goodluck Jonathan to grant amnesty to members of Boko Haram sect without further delay in order to end the  spate of violence in the country. 

Adopting a motion on matters of urgent national importance sponsored by Rep. Ibrahim Olaifa (AC, Oyo), MPs said the government and the nation have everything to gain when the violence is ended.

Police Finds Marijuana On Rihanna's Tour Bus

Rihanna‘s smoking habit may have finally caught up with her....few hours ago the singer’s 10 tour buses were stopped and authorities searched the vehicles...some amount of Marijuana was found on one of the buses...could this smell trouble for RiRi?

Luckily Rihanna wasn't on-board, says TMZ, but drug dogs came on the bus and found a man with a “small amount” of marijuana on him.

Rapper Lil Wayne Released From Hospital

Lil Wayne has been discharged from Los Angeles hospital.

Wayne spent 6 days in the hospital most of it in the Intensive Care Unit after suffering what appears to be a drug overdose that triggered a series of massive seizures.

Sources say the rapper is feeling weak but he's a lot better. He plans on laying low until he makes a full recovery.

Female Police DPO And Her 7-Year-Old Son Shot Dead In Kano

A female Police DPO identified as Esther Tarimo and her 7-year-old son were shot dead at Daurawa, Maiduguri Road in the ancient city.

The police officer was killed at about 7.30am on Tuesday as she was going to drop her son off in school. It was also gathered that her husband is a retired Police officer.

The gunmen reportedly rode in a tricycle popularly called ‘Keke NAPEP’.

The police have since sealed off the area.
