''Nollywood Is Now A Mixture Of Prostitutes And Professionals'' - Actress Mariam Bakare

Mariam Omolara Barake is a Nollwood actress, a mother and the publisher/CEO of Central Star magazine...though I have never seen any of her movies, I'm sure some of you do know her wella.
She was asked to give her 2 cents on provocative dressing and this was what she said:
It is not ideal to castigate anyone concerning this because we are all brought up from a different home and background. Back in the days, any lady that wore trousers is described as prostitutes, but it is a different thing today. This is because we have been influenced by the foreign world. Today, provocative dressing is on the increase, it is beyond trousers. You cannot comprehend what you see in the social world today.

Victoria Kimani is a Kenyan artiste signed under the Chocolate City label. Read her views on nudity:
We were born naked, then we realised that we were naked. In some villages around the world, nudity is normal; in a religious society, nudity of any kind is a sin. So, nudity is a personal preference and sometimes a Godly calling. I believe there’s nothing wrong with nudity. It’s the evil and sinful thoughts that people think that need to be controlled.

''Why We Killed Aguiyi-Ironsi And Installed Gowon'' — Jeremiah Useni

Lt. General Jeremiah Useni needs no introduction. The prominent role he played during the reign of late Head of State, Sani Abacha, as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, is well known. However, there are two things about Jeremiah Useni, who was referred to as ‘Jerry Boy’ at the time. He was indeed a Boy, because he joined the Army at the age of 14. Firstly, he was one of the soldiers who fired shots during the coup against General Ironsi in which the General was killed in Ibadan. Mr. Useni was also the closest person to General Abacha up to his last moments.
This interview, conducted in Hausa by the Hausa language newspaper, Rariya, and translated to English by PREMIUM TIMES’ reveals a lot of things many of us didn’t know, including the conspiracies that denied him the opportunity of succeeding Mr. Abacha after he died. This is an excerpts from the interview…
After your return from England, Sardauna , Tafawa Balewa and others were killed in 1966. Where were you at the time?
I was with 4th Battalion Ibadan. The coup came to us as a surprise, like a thief in the night. We just heard in the morning that Sardauna and the rest were killed. In fact, we did not get the news on time. Where was our C.O Lt. Col. Largema? And Brig. Maimalari and Col Kur Mohammed? We learnt they were all killed. And we asked, what type of coup was that? At the time, we were not concerned with where you came from or what your religion was. As long as you were from the north, we cherish each other so much.

''Nollywood Producers Hate Me Because I Don’t Allow Them Sleep With Actresses'' – Nollywood Actor Emeka Ike

The Nollywood award-winning star Emeka Ike has revealed why producers hate him and how he rescued a former actress Esther who is now a make-up artiste from sexual harassment. Read what he said below:
“If you knock at their office and you can’t sleep with them, you won't be allowed to act. Is it fair to tell a girl that ‘if I don’t sleep with you, you won’t get my favour?’ if God does that to us, where would we be today? This situation is a general norm. Ask the smallest artiste about my position on the situation. I have stopped productions severally because of this (sexual harassment).
That’s why sometimes they get issues with me.
“There was a day I saw a girl crying at a corner of a movie set, her name is Esther. She is a make-up artiste now because she has stopped acting for them (emphasis).

Are you a thief?
I can refer you to the judgment because it’s already in the public view. At least, the judge was honest enough to say ‘no kobo was missing’. It was the greatest convoluted conspiracy that I have ever seen in my life. But you know, as a Christian, if you have belief in God and your faith is very strong, you don’t get shaken.
