The Lagos State Drivers’ Institute, LASDRI, which has succeeded in training about 65,000 drivers, has revealed that 22 percent of the drivers trained which is approximately, 14,300 are suffering from eye defects.
And the eye defects includes myopia also known as nearsightedness ( a condition of the eye that makes it difficult to see objects or images that are far away) and they have been referred to several ophthalmologists for corrective measure.
The institute said they decided to start training drivers after research showed that 75 percent of auto crashes were due to human errors.
