THE lingering protest by some groups within the Edo state chapters of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) against the adoption of Dr. Pius Odubu as the running mate to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has been described as a stratagem to impeach Comrade Oshiomhole as governor.
Working on a conspiracy theory, the member representing Orhionmwon South (11) constituency, at the state house of Assembly, Hon. Friday Ogierhiakhi disclosed that the continued attack on the person of the deputy governor, Dr. Pius Odubu is designed by this group to destabilize the good works of the Comrade Governor adding that it is in fact targeted at the governor.
Addressing newsmen in Benin City, Hon. Ogierhiakhi said the constituency and indeed the entire membership of the party had resolved to accord both Comrade Oshiomhole and Dr. Odubu their continued support come 2012.
He said the briefing was necessitated on the need to correct the wrong impression created by those he described as 'failed politician' who are members of the party.
He added that their schemings on the Deputy Governor is to continue to carry out their nefarious activities in Government just like what they did while in office.
According to him "This has become necessary because of the recent actions of certain faceless, spineless and disgruntled elements at sending the wrong signals to the public."

"We believe that the real and actual motive of this faceless gang is to sneak back into the government of Edo state and by all necessary inference the public coffers, so as to continue with looting and accumulation of our collective opulence, primitive appropriation and accumulation of our wealth to the detriment of all of us."
"Therefore, it is in their warped thinking that it would be easier to get back into government through back door. i.e to malign the Deputy Governor. As the saying goes 'To kill a dog, you give it a bad name." he stated.
