Don't Fly Me Abroad For Treatment'... Injured Governor Wada

There has been insinuations that, Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State may have been flown abroad for the treatment of the injuries he sustained in the accident involving his convoy on  Friday. But Doctors at the Cedacrest Hospital, Garki in Abujawhere the governor is still receiving treatment hinted yesterday, that Wada rejected the option of flying him abroad for further treatment after undergoing what was described as inter-locking nail surgery on his thigh broken in the crash.

Lagos State Deputy Governor's Residence On Fire

Reports reaching us have it that the residence of the deputy Governor of Lagos State,Hon.  Adejoke Orelope Adefulire  has been gutted by fire.

The fire is said to be caused by an electric wire fault.

Men of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Lagos fire services, have since reported at her Osborne Road, Victoria Island home, to put out the fire.

On the appointment of Chief Anenih, which has drawn widespread criticisms, especially from the opposition parties, Special Adviser on Public Affairs to the President, Dr. Doyin Okupe,  said: 

“There are enough professionals in the NPA to run the authority. You bring in outsiders and politicians as board members, to moderate whatever the professionals do.

“There are enough technical people even on this same board. There are mandatory technical people. We are not going to be intimidated by the negative propaganda against Anenih.

“What has Anenih done wrong? Many people hate Anenih because they call him Mr. Fix It for Obasanjo. He is a politician. He knows how to do what he does. What is wrong with that?

“Is he guilty of murder? Is he guilty of rape? Has he stolen money? What has he done wrong? What some people will say is that he spent N300 billion on roads (without much to show). I don’t want to hold brief for Anenih. But that is an erroneous thing.

“What happened that year was that the Federal Government budgetted N300 billion for roads. But the money was never released to the Ministry of Works. Like this one, they are taken as true, and over the years, they take root in the hearts of some people, and so people believe the man is a thief.”

Photos From The 2012 Koko Concert

The 2012 Edition of the Koko Concert took place last night in Lagos. The show was Hosted by Idris Elba, Basketmouth and Bovi, the musical lineup featured Tinie Tempah, D’banj, Idris Elba, Naeto C, Big Sean, Pusha T, Iyanya, Ajebutter 22, DRB Lasgidi, Ice Prince, Kay Switch and many more stars.

Koko Concert, which was meant to commence at 7PM kicked off at 10:24PM with comedians Baskethmouth and Bovi doing a tremendous job by keeping the crowd hyped up for the upcoming performances.

At 12:24, the show host Idris Elba was introduced on stage. The UK actor was however not in is element or rather seemed not to connect with the crowd. It remained that way for the entire show.

Wizkid and 2face who had been earlier announced to attend and perform at the concert were missing, while many guests, including Seyi Shodimu, Darey and Banky W reportedly turned back, after trying for hours, to get to the venue.

Apart from the thousands who witnessed the mishaps live, a live internet broadcast by GTbank’s Ndani TV helped showed the shame to millions all over the world, with many giving real time negative feedback on Twitter and Facebook. D’banj trended for hours, with many Koko Concert related hashtags also trending locally on Twitter.

It is still a hot topic on Twitter with hashtags like #KokoConcert, #KokoConcertWalkofLife, #KokoConcertSurvivors becoming trends for the day. Fans are still talking about the show, describing their best performances and how they made it out of the venue.
