A 40-year-old school teacher, Nurudeen Algoni Umar was on Sunday night shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Gwange area of Maiduguri.
It was gathered that the as-sailants who were three in number opened fire on the teacher when they sighted him coming out from his family house on Waziri Musa Street, Gwange area of Maiduguri.
A younger brother to the deceased told our reporter that the incident happened around 8.30pm on Sunday night shortly after the last Muslim prayer of the day.
According to him, the assailants who might have been in the area for some hours monitoring his brother's movement, opened fire on him immediately he came out from their family house before they fled the area.
"I was told by other neighbours that my late brother was shot by unknown people after the Ishai prayer. Nobody knows who they were or where they came from," he added.
The deceased who was a staff of Federal Government College, it was also gathered, died before help could come is way.
When contacted, the spokesman of the JTF, Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Ifijeh Mohammed said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
