The apex youth organization in Edo State, Edo Youth Vanguard (EYV), has come down heavily on the State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for his inability to explain the rising debt profile of Edo state since he took over the administration almost four years ago.
The youth body through its National Coordinator, Barrister Mathew Idemudia in a statement said his blatant refusal to explain the rising debt profile which has hit N17.5 billion is a slight on the people of Edo state.
He said that the accumulated debt which is not in any way tied to improved infrastructural development was a way of mortgaging the future of Edo youths declaring that well meaning politicians who have the interest of Edo people at heart should use the forth-coming July 2012 elections to show him out of office.
" I urge well meaning politicians in Edo State who have Edo people in their hearts to please chase the erring Governor out of office in July 2012 because there is vacancy in Edo Government House", he said.
The youth body accused Governor Oshiomhole of high handedness, stressing that between November and December 2008, the state House of Assembly asked him to explain how he spent N911 million as security vote, but no meaningful response has been heard to date.
