Perpetrators Of Kebbi Hostage Killings Arrested As President Jonathan Condoles British, Italian Governments

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday commiserated with the British and Italian Governments over the death of their nationals who were held captive in Kebbi State by gunmen suspect to be members of the Boko Haram sect. The hostages, Chris MacManus, a Briton and Franco Lamolinara, an Italian, both contract staff of a construction were captured in May last year.

The two men were however murdered just as the house where they were being held in Madera was stormed by a combined team of Nigerian troops and British Special Forces. The two Europeans were however murdered by their captors before the rescue team could reach them.

In a statement signed by the President's Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Reuben Abati, President Jonathan condemned the killing of the two Europeans and expressed his heartfelt condolence to the families of the bereaved as well as the people and Governments of Britain and Italy. It was also contained in the statement that "the perpetrators of the murderous act, who have all been arrested, would be made to face the full wrath of the law".
