PRINCE Charles and Camilla will tour South Africa next month - but will not meet Nelson Mandela or the country's president.
The royal couple will spend seven days on a trip that aims to strengthen trade and investment as part of Britain's economic recovery.
Private secretary Clive Alderton said Mr Mandela, 93, 'is in his home town and doesn't see people any more', while President Jacob Zuma is out of the country.
Instead they are expected to be met by an acting head of state as they visit Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and KwaZulu-Natal.
Prince Charles will travel to South Africa on November 2 after a two-day visit to the Middle East. He will pay for Camilla to fly out and meet him in the country.
