Photo Speak: Robbers Stike Again In Port Harcourt, Killing A Policeman And A Staff

Less than two weeks after a gang of armed robbers raided customers in front of a bank in Port Harcourt, armed robbers struck again today at about 9.30 am, at Everyday Emporium, Rumuola, branch.

Yesterday Some staff of Everyday Emporium, Rumuola were conveying an undisclosed amount of cash from Everyday Rumuola branch, to Everyday Supermarket, GRA Port Harcourt, with police escort from Operations Department of the Rivers State Police Command when the gunmen struck.

The robbers who may have stalked the staff of the supermarket laid an ambush at Umurelu Street side, behind Rumuola Junction and fired several shots into both vehicles, resulting in the death of a female staff of the Supermarket and a police corporal.


Two other policemen in a back up escort vehicle had several gun shot wounds.

Ben Ugwuegbulem, the spokesman for Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the robbery incident.

According to him, "several police patrol teams including, Swift Operation Squad, and Special Anti-Robbery Squad are in serious efforts to trace and arrest the culprits and recover the loot."
