Two foreigners, Aje Kofi, 37, and Sogor Amoussou, 24, have been arraigned before an Ibadan Chief Magistrates' Court on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing of chicken valued at N180, 000.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the accused claimed that they were asylum seekers from Ghana and Togo respectively.
Police prosecutor, Ade Adebusuyi, told the court that the accused committed the offences on August 26 at the Afurugbin Area of Moniya, Ibadan.
Adebusuyi said the accused conspired and stole broiler chickens worth N180, 000 belonging to one Olufunmi Oshuntolu, contrary to the provisions of the Criminal Code of Oyo State.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charges.
The presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olusola Adetunjoye, ordered the accused to be remanded in Agodi Prisons custody, and adjourned the case to September 6.
