UN House Bomb Blast: DSS Declares Al Qaeda-linked Man, Mamman Nur, Wanted!

The Department of State Services (DSS), today in Abuja declared wanted Mamman Nur, whom it described as the mastermind of last week's bomb attack on the United Nations House in the city.

In a press statement in response to "various speculations and misrepresentations in the media," DSS spokesperson Marilyn Ogar described Mr. Nur as "a notorious Boko Haram element with Al-Qaeda links who returned recently from Somalia."

Ms. Ogar said that security agencies working on "precise intelligence" received by DSS in the days before the blast of Boko Haram plans to attack unspecified targets in Abuja, had arrested Babagana Ismail Kwaljima (a.k.a Abu Summaya); and Babagana Mali (a.k.a Bulama), "notorious" leaders of the group.

That information indicated the attack would be by means of an ash-coloured Toyota Camry vehicle with registration number AA539GBL, but it was eventually executed with a Honda car with Kano State registration number AV38NSR.

In the badly-conceived press statement, DSS seems to be suggesting that Nigeria's chaotic security agencies should not be blamed for the bomb blast because Boko Haram failed to keep to the terms of the "credible intelligence" DSS had received by cleverly using a motor vehicle different from the one it had promised.

The agency however called on Nigerians to recognize they have no other country, and urged everyone to strive to maintain its unity "which is currently being threatened."
