The United States President, Mr. Barrack Obama, through the Assistant Secretary for African Affairs, Ambassador Johnnie Carson has described the Boko Haram sect as a frustrated group.
Stating this in his Keynote address during the event organized on the United States engagement with Nigeria, Mr. Carson added that the frustrated terrorist group is capitalising on popular frustrations with the nation's leaders and poor government services. He also said that Boko Haram has created a large spread of insecurity in the country over the years, stressing that this is frightening off foreign investors from coming to do businesses in the country.
"Boko haram has been responsible for daily attacks in some parts of the country" he noted. The United States Diplomat on African Affairs berated Boko Haram's attacks on churches and mosques, saying that these attacks are particularly disturbing because they are intended to cause religious tensions in the country.
