Nigeria Shifting From Oil Sector To Solid Minerals?

Nigeria has shifted attention to the development of solid minerals to diversify the revenue sources and reduce its heavy dependence on oil, the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mr. Musa Sada, disclosed on Thursday in Sokoto.
Sada told mine officers in the northwest of the country that the government was currently reforming the solid mineral sector to make it more efficient and lucrative.

The minister explained that the Minerals and Mines Act of 2007 was enacted to further boost the sector to make it more in tune with the subsisting global standards.
