Lady Gaga has been refused a permit to perform in Indonesian capital Jakarta next month after Islamic groups in the country expressed opposition to her "vulgar" style, Reuters reports.
Three Islamic groups expressed their oppostion to the concert planned on June 3, as part of her mammoth 110-date tour 'Born This Way Ball' world tour and demanded that it be stopped.
"She's a vulgar singer who wears only panties and a bra when she sings and she stated she is the envoy of the devil's child and that she will spread satanic teaching," said Salim Alatas, the Jakarta head of hardline Islamic Defender Front (FPI). He added: "This is dangerous."
While Indonesia is a secular state, it has the world's largest population of Muslims as well as significant minorities of Christians, Buddhists and Hindus.
More than 30,000 tickets had been sold for the Jakarta concert.
