Surprising... What would have resulted in the loss of 16 lives in a passenger bus was yesterday prevented by Ondo State governor's wife, Olukemi Mimiko as her convoy rescued some victims who were trapped in the vehicle. The wife of the governor was on her way to Lagos State.
However, the driver of the ill fated bus and a kid were already dead before the wife of the governor got to the scene of the incident, while others sustained various levels of injuries.
The passengers who were in an 18-seater bus with the inscription "God is Good" were said to be heading to Delta State from Lagos before the tragic accident.
They were said to be trapped inside the bus after the driver lost control of the vehicle before the fatal accident occurred.
Apparently, immediately Mrs. Mimiko, got to accident scene, she directed her aides in the convoy to stop and rescue the victims before their situation got worse. The victims were immediately taken to the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital for urgent treatment.
One of the sympathizers, simply identified as Abiodun commended the wife of the governor for her kindness which made her stop and offer quick and required assistance to the victims.
