No fewer than 20 vehicles were badly damaged and several people seriously injured in the latest violence, which had thrown residents of Mushin into another round of panic.
The Monday clash was a spillover of the Sunday's clash at Adeshina Street, where two factions of hoodlums clashed over the control of the territories in the area, leading to the wanton destruction of life and property, with six stalls completely burnt.
The hoodlums also took the advantage of the unrest to break into locked up shops and looted goods estimated at several hundred of thousands of naira.
It was gathered that the Monday clash started around 10.00 a.m, when armed youths from Akala stormed the railway line area of Idi Oro and engaged their rivals in another clash.
The clash also extended to other parts of Idi Oro, New Balogun Street, Yuba Street, Ikeolu Street, Coker and some parts of Olosa, where miscreants were also on standby.
Investigations revealed that the factions attacked each other and unleashed mayhem on innocent citizens, following the absence of security operatives
A victim of the Monday clash, Mr Jacob Ibidun, a local pools vendor, claimed the hoodlums invaded his shop and made away with about N182,000.
Residents of the affected streets stated their homes were broken into, with their mobile phones, money, jewelry and other valuables collected by the hoodlums.
The arrival of men of the Rapid Response Squad, it was learnt, could not deter the hoodlums from wreaking havoc on Mushin residents.
When contacted, the spokesman for the state police command, Samuel Jinadu, confirmed the clash, but denied that five people were killed in the renewed violence.
He said the police had taken control of the area and that normalcy had returned.
A police source, who pleaded anonymity, however, confirmed that two people had been confirmed dead.
