Uniben SUG Holds Legal Symposium And Honours Ceremony.

The 6th legal symposium and honours ceremonies, organised by the Students Union Government (SUG), will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Ugbowo Campus, Benin City, at 10.00 a.m.

It has as its theme: "Existential" Legalism: the students, the law and the Nigerian society".

The symposium will hold under the distinguished chairmanship of Major-General Charles E. Airhiavbere (rtd) while Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole will be the distinguished guest of honour.

Guest Speakers, are Barr Festus Keyamo (Lagos Based Lawyer/Human Rights Activist), Mr. Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri (JP) MON (President/Founder, Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri Centre for change), Barr. Ben. Udoh (Course Director, Settlement House, Abuja), Barr. B.A. Iluobe (President, Environment and Human Rights Justice Committee), C.P. David O. Omojola (Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command).

The Panel of discussants will include, Dr. Eddy Erhagbe (Associate Professor, Department of History and International Studies, University of Benin), Dr. Benson Osadolor (Head, Department of History and International Studies, University of Benin), Dr. George Uzoma Ukagba (Department of Philosophy and Religious, Faculty of Arts University of Benin), Dr. Anthony Afe Asekhuruno (Department of Philosophy and Religious Faculty of Arts University of Benin), Barr. Gabriel OMO Arishe (Faculty of Law University of Benin), Barr. Jude Nosagie (Managing Director, PM. Bank) _ and Barr J. A. Bazuaye (Crime Officer, Security Department University of Benin).

His Royal Majesty, Omo N'Oba 'Edo Uku Akpolopo, Oba Erediauwea CFR, Oba of Benin will preside as the Royal Father of the Day while, Elder Edward John Muomareghen (Managing Director Eddy Grace Nig. Ltd), Barr. R. O. Isenalunhe (chairman Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch) have been designated as special guest of honour.
The vice chancellor University of Benin will be the chief host, with Prof. George Eriyamremu (Deacon of Student, University of Benin and Barr. Faith O. Osadolor as the co-host.

Other topics slated for discussion include "The students and the Nigerian society: the change we want, Entrepreneurship as Adjured of National Economic sustainability: legalism in Business practice" and many others sustainability: legalism in business practice ad many other.

According to the organizers the first 100 people to be present will be presented with gifts.
