THE Catholic Arch-Diocese in Benin City, weekend, honoured Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State by conferring a posthumous award on his late wife, Mrs. Clara Oshiomhole.
At a special thanksgiving mass, celebrated by the Archbishop of Benin Diocese, Most Rev. Anthony Akubueze, the late Mrs Oshiomhole was described as a quintessential Catholic, who was devoted to Christ.
In his citation, Rev. Father Andrew Obinyan, the Parish Priest, said: "Apart from her simplicity and loving devotion to her husband and children, her greater strength was her abiding faith in the power of prayers."
Mrs. Jane Adukwu, daughter of Governor Oshiomhole, who received the award on behalf of the family, said: "We are proud of my mother's sacrifices and contributions to the Church."
Governor Oshiomhole was represented at the service by his Deputy, Dr. Pius Odubu.
She took her Christian commitment with utmost seriousness, becoming in the process, the quintessential Catholic woman who was devoted to Christ and faithful to the Church and duty to the family.
