Spring Bank Manager Stabbed To Death Over Debt Recovery!

Manager of recently liquidated Spring Bank Plc, Ebute-Metta branch, Emeka Ohazuruike, was yesterday stabbed to death at the Agboju area of Lagos.

The alleged killer is one Keneth Oji.
It was learnt that he met his untimely death in the hands of a relation of one of the debtors of the bank when he went for debt recovery.
The deceased was said to have gone to prevail on one of the bank's debtors when the alleged debtor's brother in-law became overzealous and engaged the banker in a brawl.
According to sources, the debtor's in-law was said to have stabbed the deceased to death over the amount owed Springbank.

Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Samuel Jinadu, said the suspect and the alleged debtor have been arrested.
Spring Bank is one of the three banks liquidated on Friday.
The bank has now been handed over to Enterprise Bank Limited, which will run it until it is fully recapitalized and handed over to new investors.

Enterprise Bank Limited is one of the bridge banks, which acquired the assets and liabilities of the affected banks through the purchase and assumption model earlier used by the apex bank under Chukwuma Soludo as Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor.
