GOVERNOR Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, yesterday, pledged to give the late veteran actor, Sam Loco Efe, a state burial. Gov, Chime described his death as a great loss to the entertainment industry, Enugu State and Nigeria.
In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Afam Okereke, Gov. Chime lamented the death of the actor, who he said contributed much to the transformation and stability of the Nollywood industry.
Chime said Sam Efe's involvement and participation at the Enugu State chapter of Actor Guild of Nigeria where he has been since he relocated from Lagos has been inspiring.
The governor, who noted that Sam Loco spent his earliest years in the East, added that until his death chose Enugu State as a permanent residence from where he coordinated his transactions within and outside the country.
He described the late consummate performer from Benin as a legend and great ambassador of Enugu State, declaring his interest and readiness to accord him a state burial and immortalise him in the coal city so that generations yet unborn may know that such great talent lived in Enugu State.
